Game of Thrones Combat System

Here is a video showing some of the highlights of the combat system in Game of Thrones.

Pretty good stuff. You have a lot of options when playing this game and two major paths you can follow the path of big combat or the path of magic and stealth. You follow these paths in order to unlock the highest level skills in each. But the game also gives you the ability to follow a multi-discipline path which is kind of nice.

And you can be a big ole two handed weapon wielder which is what I always am! YAY!

One thing in particular to note with this is the combat pause system. I really like the way they have this set up. With a lot of games you can pause the game at any point in a battle. This way you can take your time to choose skills, abilities, potions etc. You can carefully plot things out. But.... that is a little peculiar in the middle of combat isn't it? I mean that if it is a real battle can you really pause?

Well, this game takes a different approach to this. When you pause in combat the combat continues on but slowly, real slow motion. And I love this. You only have a certain amount of time to make your combat decisions. It adds a lot more tension to the game. You can see this in action in the video below.
