In this module I show you where to get the software and how to get it started.
Getting and Starting FPS Creator
Before we do anything you should take a look at the Game Requirements to insure your computer can actually run it. Here are the system requirements.
Purchasing the software
If you want to immediately purchase the software you can get it directly from The Game Creators website where they offer many payment options including credit card, PayPal and WorldPay. Order here
You can also buy it from amazon.com here FPS Creator by Enteractive ENTERACTIVE FPS Creator ( Windows )
Downloading the Free Trial Software
If you are not ready to purchase it you here is the free software download. FPS Creator trial download. There are some limitations to this software in that you won't be able to build any stand-alone games and they have limited some of the maps but otherwise it is fully functional and will work for 30 days. It's simply a nice way to see if it is right for you before you dish out the dineros. (It also has a comprehensive pdf users manual which comes in handy)
So, if you are dying to get started create a folder on your desktop and download the zip file to the folder. Then unzip the file into the same folder. You end up with a start icon in the folder.
The icon on the left is the original zip I downloaded and the icon on the right is the Wizard start up icon after unzipping. Double click on this new icon and the install shield wizard will start up the installation utility to install FPS Creator on your computer.
You are no doubt familiar with this process of installing something on your computer so press next and follow any instructions as they come up. When the terms and conditions of use screen comes up carefully read through it and if you agree with the terms select yes and continue with the installation. This is important. If you are serious about making games you should be familiar with the terms and particularly if you want to make games for sale.
Once the program has completed installation go to your desktop and find the FPS Creator Start up icon. Double click on it and your game creation software starts up.
That's it! The software has started and you are ready to start making games. Let's move on and get familiar with the software. Here is a look at the screen:
